Tips for Script Writing
Before you submit your order, make sure to check out our tips for the most engaging messages.
Always start your message with a warm welcome and the company name to start the call in a positive manner
Remember that not all callers will be English experts! So, include notes for the recording artist for any non-standard or complicated pronunciations
Write EVERYTHING as you want it to be said. For example, '8am' instead of 08:00.
Try to keep your messages as brief as possible, to prevent long lists and wordy sentences from detracting from the experience
Auto Attendants / IVR
Always start your message with a warm welcome and the company name to start the call in a positive manner
Many find Auto Attendants to be easier to listen to without music, so that callers can clearly hear the instructions given
If applicable, mention that the call is being recorded and for what reason - training, quality, requirement, etc.
Always put the department name before the number. For example, 'For sales, press one...'
Night Service
Only use music if there's a genuine need, as your message will be much easier to listen to without music
State your opening hours, so that callers can call back at a more suitable time
If there is an emergency Out of Office option, state the phone number clearly (preferably twice). Just in case they miss a digit or want to double check the number
If possible, redirect them to your website to log their query, or visit an FAQ page.
